The Sweaty Penguin

Hosted ByEthan Brown

The most fun you've ever had while learning environmental issues! Episodes include a comedy monologue and expert interview. Welcome to Antarctica's Hottest Podcast.

Bonus: Diners, Drive-Ins, and Yellowstone Hot Springs

As promised, the bipartisan discussion bonus episodes are here! Today, Ethan sits down with episode 1’s Christian Alberga and Matt Grottkau to hear their first impressions and find some common ground on episode 20: “Economic Recovery from Coronavirus.” Plus, some environmental news and yet another update on the John Oliver Memorial Sewer Plant.

I’m so glad that Economic Recovery from Coronavirus was the first bipartisan conversation bonus episode. That episode came out only a few weeks ago, but its importance can’t be understated. There are so many options for how to approach that recovery, and so many good options. But that may be the biggest test the world faces in the coming year(s). At this unprecedented time when governments are forced to shape the future economy, how will they do it? What will they prioritize? Will they cooperate with each other? It’s a moment full of opportunity, both to succeed and to create setbacks. With that in mind, chatting with Christian and Matt and seeing how on the same page they were was both striking and refreshing. To know that the episode had an impact to the degree that two friends who I know get into their fair share of political disagreements were that in sync was pretty astounding. And witnessing and being part of that, I can only hope these conversations start to happen around the world.

If you haven’t listened to episode 20, please do, and please share it around. I do feel that it’s one of the most important topics The Sweaty Penguin has covered, and I hope everyone gets the chance to learn about it. And then enjoy this fantastic bipartisan discussion about it!
